Once upon a time, we were stuck in Brazil.
We sat.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And listened.
Which resulted in us taking a cargo ship up the amazon for three days. So we tied up our hammocks amidst the 45 other hammocks and drifted from Brazil to Peru.
But it wasn´t all fun and games. A cockroach in the face isn´t something you just brush off, alhtough Nathan did.
There were at least lavatorios...oh yes...there were. And showers...all one in the same in the nice llittle corner with rusty holes in the wall.
At least we got to eat lots of rice and bread with ants and coffee with spiders. There were so many people on board that you never knew who you were sitting/sleeping beside....or under. We locked all of our luggage together, locked them all closed, and the only thing not tied down was indeed stolen.
And then there was relief when through gestures and pointing the captain told us we could go sit up on the roof. Then we could see the entire Amazon around us and even spotted a pink dolphin (yes, they do exist)

And as time neared for sleeping the hammocks swayed, and the boat...well crashed. Then the water pump came on and the villagers rushed to their boats to check our status. Luckilly we didn´t drown...in the dark...in the storm...in the Amazon. We floated in circles for awhile and then 5 hours later headed onward. And thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.
We are in Peru. Illegaly mind you. Without passport stamps, but the peruvian people seem to love us and go out of their way to help us so this has not been a problem as of yet.
this is pretty much the best time of our lives, so were going to go enjoy it now. adios
