In the land of mate.

so Argentina turns out to be freaking BRILLIANT! we went to the grocery store... and there was a whole section of MATÉ. We sort of just stood there in a heavenly dream-like stance. if you don´t know about Maté, let us educate you. In Argentina EVERYONE whos ANYONE drinks maté. Its a type of tea. But not just any tea. You carry around a thermos full of hot water so that at any point in the day you should need some maté, you have easy access. But if you should run out of hot water? no worries, there are vending machines that can pour new hot water into your thermos. But you don´t drink it out of a cup. How absurd?! you drink it out of a gourd... or cow foot... or a hunk of sugar cane... or a píece of horn. Then you drink it with a straw-like device called a bombilla.

Some people think it tastes cigarette butts. But today we bought mint lemon flavoured kind. so we sit around and drink mate. and talk to random guys who try to sell us drugs and laugh at Nate´s feet. OH and we see Gauchos every once in a while. Which always turns out to be incredibly facinating. OH AND WE SAW LLAMAS! cept not like the normal type of llamas. The fancy kind. They look like little deers. Oh and there were also normal llamas and the road and the bus had to stop for them. haha what a fun land! ciao Kristy y Nate
